Old or Cynical?

Are you old or cynical when, while watching the scene in the new Charlie and Chocolate Factory where Charlie finds the last golden ticket and the freakish woman next to him offers his $500 for it, you turn to J.Yo and hiss DOLLARS? I thought this took place in London. The exchange rate is AWFUL.

Further CCF reflection to come.

Are old/cynical the only choices? How about jaded? Pragmatic?

Wasn't the factory supposed to be in Switzerland or some candy capital? There was a whole mix of accents in there.

I liked the part where the robot-zombie Wonka reveals that he needs human blood in order to fuel his ship to HD-6351!

... oh wait, that's Scientology.

You don't need to be cynical to recognize this movie as the awful phlegm mug that it is. If anything, the film itself is cynical--an homage to kitsch rather than story. Tim Burton is dead to me. I have been snookered no more.

No one noticed the American style USPS blue mailbox on the corner of the candyshop?
