Little Things are Cropping Up

There are tiny clues that spring is coming- I heard birds chirping this morning and, while the air is still cold, that bite is lessened by a slightly warmer sun. This weekend we helped my aunts and uncles clean out my grandmother's house; an unexpected result was the acquisition of several gardening tools. I went out back with the hedge clippers and a pitchfork this Sunday to see how frozen the ground was- apparently, not that much, as much to my surprise I discovered several spring growths pushing through through the earth. Even though we'll probably dig all of this stuff up in a few weeks, it was nice to see that the season was inching toward change.
...and, some Irving after the jump...

We also brought a little red wagon home from my grandmother's house, which Irving carefully inspected. I think Jen put it best by saying "I imagine him going to the greenmarket, picking up vegetables." Now I want to take Irving on trips to pick up our CSA produce this spring...but somehow don't think that will work out so well.
P.S. That is our basement, just in case you were thinking that our living quarters are really cluttered and messy.
