Bedtime for Irving & Other Unrelated Tidbits

Or, rather, tidbit.

  1. Irving's bedtime ritual captured on film (er, digital).
  2. A question for those of you who might be Park Slope Food Coop-ers: is there any carpooling system at the Coop for people who live further away from the neighborhood? Or, otherwise phrased, does anyone either live or know someone who lives in the Carroll Gardens/Red Hook area who does the coop thing, drives when they do a weekly shopping trip, and would be interested in giving another couple a ride?

(No, I don't like the idea of driving anywhere in the city if I don't have to, however we buy food in bulk for the week and carrying it from Park Slope to Red Hook would be difficult on a bike and time consuming on our backs (+ heavy- we do it weekly with backpacks from our local market to the apartment already)). Just curious.

there isn't any carpooling system but i would suggest posting signs in the coop (if you're ever there) on the bulletin board wall in the staircase, in any coffeeshops in your neighborhood and also maybe even craigslist (ridesharing) to see if anyone near you would be carpooling. chances are, there are a number of people that live near you that are also coop members.

just an idea... good luck!

You don't know me, but I've been stalking your blog for a bit. We're members at the Co-op but we live right around the corner. In any case, there is definitely potential there for putting up notices on the many bulletin boards. I might just call the Co-op office and ask if they have any ideas, and tell them that it's the deciding factor between joining or not.

And if you join, I think you'll like it. (Best decision we've ever made, at least in Brooklyn.)

Irving needs security. It must be difficult. Hang in there though. I miss my Orangeboy, Max, he's been gone 4 months. This will be a time you'll look back on with love.
