Dimsum & Kiwi

On Saturday one of my closest and oldest friends visited Brooklyn with her cuter-each-time-we-meet son, coined Dimsum by yours truly for a reason that I now cannot quite remember. I have known Dimsum ever since he poked his little head into the world and to see him transform from infant to baby to little boy has been astounding. Last summer they moved from Brooklyn to Long Island and since then, mainly because of my own laziness, I have not seen them much. Alexis and I last saw Dimsum at his first birthday party in November. Since then he has completely transformed into a compound word spewing little boy.
The three of us decided to go to the Prospect Park Zoo, where we saw sea lions and snakes and sleeping wallabies. Best of all, we saw a wonderful baboon entranced in thought. Dimsum could not take his eyes of him and neither could I. The great grey monkey looked just like a distant relative of Irving. Can you guess the reason? (No? Think chapped ass.)
The best part of Saturday: Dimsum, like most small children, could not pronounce my name. Instead, he called me Kiwi all day.

We prefer not to, as well. Unfortunately, it constantly presents itself.

What a gorgeous boy! Lucky him to share a post with a chapped assed cat/baboon!

How is his dad Corie? Is he better now? I know that was a long time ago.
