Vacating to the Moon

I do believe that this is the city’s first stink, stank, stunk day of humidity this year. Something smells like dead, rotting animal outside our bedroom window and the cats resemble the moist furballs that seem to inhabit every corner of our apartment, despite vacuuming.
It is summer and my mind is elsewhere. I feel like a kid two days before the end of school, except if that were the case I would be running a three-legged race during field day or perhaps, if it were high school, skipping class to do nothing and sulk. Instead, it is two days before we leave for our honeymoon. No one else is going on vacation, so they have no sympathy (nor would I for anyone else). Neither Alexis nor I can concentrate. We just want this week to be over with already, though not too quickly, as I still do not have a bathing suit and we are, um, spending a week at a beach.
I anticipate that my thoughts will be scattered upon our return and a bevy of responsibilities will be eating a hole in my surplus gmail storage. That said, I am pulling out the age-old blogger trick of "send me a question, any question." I will stockpile them for a bit and slap up some answers when I can, most likely in a week. Yeah, I know it’s old, but your questions get my mind a thinkin’. In al seriousness, a few of the questions sent to me last year resulted in later posts, etc., etc.
See you all mid-June. Woot! I’m off to spit-shine my passport.

What beach are you going to and what are you most excited to do there?

Well, I'll answer that one right off the bat to be timely :)
We are going to Cabo San Lucas for a week. I am most excited to do nothing...but more so to lay in the sun, something I have not had a chance to do yet this year.

What will happen to the cats while you are away? I live in the woods in northern Wisconsin -- I'm sure your pilot wouldn't mind veering a little to the right so you could drop your kitties in their little feline parachutes onto my lawn. They would undoubtedly enjoy joining our three cats to do a little chipmunk/squirrel/goldfinch/hummingbird watching from our windows. Can they chatter while they engage in this sport? Chattering is required.
Oh wait, we're going on vacation next week, too. Never mind. But do have a glorious time!

do your cats miss you while you're gone? ours don't. if anything, they're happier because we're not around to bother them =)

what did you do during summer vacations as a kid? what do you want for your own (hypothetical future) kids during THEIR summer vacations? (eventually, of course, they'll have opinions of their own, but at this point, it's safe to say you have all the say... lol).
