Bare Paranoia

2006-04-15 03.jpg

I refused to wear skirts until a year or two ago. Now, I love them. They are easy and, best of all, they attract less fur than pants because they hang higher in the closet. We think about these things in our house.

Being that today is supposed to peak at nearly 80, I decided that it would be the first skirt-without-tights day of the season. The weather, indeed, is glorious, but I spent the walk to the bus and subway fighting away pangs of paranoia. I consistently felt like I had forgotten to put on pants.

Thankfully, I am acclimating.

ohmigod, thanks for capturing that feeling perfectly! I always feel totally weird the first day of a skirt-without-tights... I am contemplating getting the spring clothes down from their bins in the top of my closet and putting the winter stuff away....

isn't it windy over there in red hook? must be like you're naked!

We're doing our spring clothing swap this weekend when we move the apartment around. Then again, it's supposed to be about 50 degrees tomorrow so I'm hesitant to put away my woolies.

Tien-- only if you actually let your skirt fly up! Maybe people do that in Greenpoint but in Red Hook we're much more demure.

Love the picture! Is Olive sitting on a black CD? or maybe that black circle is just her shadow.

When my husband was a toddler, my MIL told me, he would cry when at the change of season he had to go from footed pjs to Sleeping With Naked Feet. At least you didn't cry...

The black is the edge of her tail! She has a very dark stripe running down the length of it.

Olive looks so demure in this picture.
