I'm curious as to what the green line of dots are in the first picture. Are you taking it through glass and this is the reflection of your green pearl necklace, or does your camera send off one of those lazer pointers that can be a real pain in the butt while photographing concerts and events in the dark?
Or could they be naval spirits captured by mistake by the lovely Corie...

What the hell are those green dots? :)

the green dots are lens flare from the string of bare bulbs along the ceiling. since the camera was focusing all the way down the hallway, the depth of field kept things out of focus up front - a situation that encourages such anomalies.

actually, they are the spirits of long gone naval personnel who died in the hospital...

I love the second photo - just a glimmer of the outside around the door-window. Beautiful.

These are all beautiful pictures. Have you thought of making a book out of them?

I thought the green spots had something to do with the lights. quite weird, huh? i was going to edit them out and then figured that they added a little mystery. plus, i was feeling kind of lazy.

i print a lot of the photos that we take of old places-- we have an entire album dedicated to images from the brooklyn navy yard. one day i hope we can put it together with some of the transcribed interviews we've done to make a little book.

Do you have a good story about how you got in there?

Sadly, for some, no. We were given a tour. My days of crawling through fence holes are long gone. Maybe. Well, not really. But we did get a legal walkthrough.

I love the haunting quality of this photos. They make me want to know more. A book would be an awesome idea.
