Condo Update

Via an email from my father

Nanobob Construction, under contract to Lexacor Industries, today announced the start of construction on Quad Cat Towers, a multidollar project designed to bring affordable feline lounging to Red Hook. Project managers predict that construction will be complete by December 16, 2005 and the first residents are expected to start scratching at it's doors the same day.

Luxury features include wall to wall carpeting on all three levels and imported sisal rope manicure facilities on two sides. Up to three residents will be able to share the lounging facilities at the same time and as many as five may take advantage of the lounges and manicure facilities at once.

- the top and base levels are in place and carpeting temporarily installed for fitting purposes.
- the mezzanine level has not yet been installed, but will afford shelter and cozy protection for a certain small cat

- over sized platforms (18x18 top, 30x18 base) were required to meet the size requirements of one of the prospective tenants
- height was kept to about 27" to meet federal fat-cat accessibility standards
- note the reinforcing bars under the top platform
- 1/2" sisal rope will wind around both side walls

How jealous are my cats right now?

What a nice present from your dad! I hope all the collective cats can share it.

It'll be fun to see how everyone "fights" for space on this...I bet Olga will rule over it for a bit and then the others will pick their fav spot. It should be fun to view.

You should post the construction plans for it. We'd love to build our own cat trees. :)

I'm not sure if Olga can jump that high. She will probably occupy the bottom. The others will duke it out for the sides and top.

Set up your camera on time lapse as soon as you introduce the cats to the lounger!! It will be way cool!

Lex has been filming the cats since we moved in. I'm not allowed to watch it, though, because "I will mess up the time code." Sheesh.

Also, you will appreciate the feline "moments" after some time has passed. Trust me.

What's the asking price?

Posted by: ryan at December 9, 2005 5:47 PM

I would order one for Nina but she always prefers any available cardboard box...you can take the cat out of the street but you can't get the street out of the cat!
