Burnout

Yesterday, during a fit of extreme when is this apartment finally going to sell and how are we going to afford to live in the meantime, plus rent a new place anxiety, I ate an entire vending machine box of Sweet Tarts. Almost immediately after consuming them (which took all of three minutes), my mouth turned into a ball of sugarcoated cotton and my teeth began to rot.
I looked at the box and wondered why a company would sell the candy in such a quantity. Let’s face it; we are not animals prone to moderation. And when it comes to Sweet Tarts, which so easily make the transition from desk to hand to mouth, who can stop at just a few pieces? Disgusted with myself, I threw on my raincoat and took a walk to the local bodega, whereupon I purchased a dented yet perfectly eatable apple. Everything cancelled out.
This morning, I sat down at my computer to find one lone Sweet Tart peering up at me. I regarded it suspiciously at first, as I had no recollection of anything being on my desk prior to leaving last night, and then added it to the breakfast contents of my stomach. Now my teeth are rotting again.
Thank goodness that it is Friday. Maybe, at some point, the rain will stop.

Sloshed through the raging whitewater that surrounded my '88 Dodge Shadow. Unlocked the door and slid into the drivers' seat. As I turned to grab my seatbelt I noticed a puddle on the floor of the backseat. I tossed the sports section of my Newsday in it for absorbtion and denial. Yeah, it's time for a new car, but if the rain continues I could set up a mobile spa unit for water-loving felines. Where's my wine???
