Olive's Brick

Olive has attached herself to the brick that I brought home from the old stable at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. She spends countless hours cradling it with her paws and rubbing her face on the corners. We find this quite odd.

My guess is a kindred feline spirit had a similar attachment to Olive's brick. She must be picking up the vibe...or scent. On the other hand, she is Olive.

My cat Mickey loves shoes. He rolls all over them like Olive and the brick. He also is particularly attached to a purse I have that is woven. In fact...it is now "cat property" and don't carry it anymore. He sleeps on it regularly. You never know what cats will fall in love with...

Irving sits like a turkey on any backpack that I accidentally leave on the floor (or bed, couch, table, etc.). I've never seen such an attachment with a brick, though. She's quite possessive.

What a perfect cat for a couple that brings home bricks :)

Olive is a result of her role model, she relates to architectural fragments.

this IS quite odd.
but adorable, nonetheless.

I think it's sweet. Does Irving like the brick too?

Irving will have nothing to do with the brick. He prefers sitting beneath the peak of his scratching post.

If I buy new shoes, my girl Melody will entrench herself in the box for hours upon hours. Never mind the fact that she can barely stuff herself into it.

Valentine loves licking plastic bags. She has even gotten them stuck around her body at times due to enthusiastic licking!
Well within the range of normal behavior for a cat...

MY cat licks the pleather seats of my bar stools and rubs her head on them. She also has a shoe fetish

My cat also likes licking plastic bags, and other plastic items. I read somewhere that they do this because plastics are made with animal proteins and they smell or sense that. She also eats rubber bands (and they miraculously go through her system without a kink), but I've found no information on THAT whatsoever.

Does it make her poo springy?

One of my girls, Bailey, like licking plastics bags and snatching Q-tips from my little container by the sink, she then proceeds to play fetch with me and the Q-tip. Mocha, the other one, is very in to her dog brother Bailey's plastic squeaky hot dog. One of the cat's name is Bailey and so is the dog's. They had the name by the time my husband and I met. I think that cats like the way the plastic sounds, the same way they like tissue paper.
