Searching for a New Route

But First: The words no one wants to hear on a Tuesday morning after a long weekend with an 8:30 a.m. meeting awaiting them:

No Manhattan-bound F trains at this station!

I wonder if that was why all of those helicopters were hovering over Smith/9 at 6:00 a.m.

Ah, change. My mind has been a'twitter as of late, so jam packed with plans and worries and excitement; often I feel as though my brain is a looping projector, casting my throughts onto the ceiling as I try to sleep, like a infant, staring up at shadows in the sky.

This means that I need to start running more.

More change! I am living elsewhere on weekends, the time when I set out on my long runs, and I need a new route or two or three...I have already grown quite bored with running from Red Hook to Cobble Hill and need some new scenery. I'm about to move into 10-15 mile lonhg runs and alas, I need some ideas...ones that won't get me lost in Crown Heights for, as I learned earlier this weekend, it is not a fun place to get twisted around in while wearing short shorts.

I'm no runner, but I would go down Clinton/Henry... maybe down the Promenade and back through the Heights. Or just keep going across Flatbush and head into Clinton Hill and Fort Greene. So many nice places to go!

Totally. When I am in Park Slope I run from my apt to Greenpoint and back...when I am actually in shape, that is...which is not now.
