Crunchy, but not Good

Things are a little slow in callalillie-blogville, but they should be back on track tomorrow. I am on vacation with the Almost Husband, which, for the first half of the week, entails meeting and interviewing our Officer's Row family. Thus, there is a lot to say but I am maintaining some restraint.
In the meantime, a little tidbit:
On Sunday night I was transferring a piece of pie from the oven to my plate in the dark kitchen. I paused to look at something else for a moment, came back, saw a small crumb of crust on the counter, and popped it into my mouth. I chewed once, only for a truly lewd taste to enter my taste buds. It was unmistakably, cat food.
After a minor fit of hysterics (How did cat food wind up on the counter?? Me: I don't know, dear, they're YOUR cats), Lex retrieved a full piece of cat food (I had only tasted a kernel), and popped it into his mouth.
Suffice it to say, we both did a lot of tooth brushing later that night.

I've found kibbles in the bed, behind the toilet, on the couch... The worst for me (not as bad as consuming one) is when Dex leaves one in my path and it gets crushed under foot.
And it's just hitting me that Lex ate a piece after you did. Love made clear through cat food.
