Can You Hear Me Now?

A dismembered right headphone was found last night in a dark corner of the West Side Highway and 12th Street. The victim, an unidentified white earbud of iPod origins, showed no apparent sign of struggle. Police are currently seeking witnesses to this assault, in addition to the owner of the deceased, presumably wandering Manhattan listening to MP3s in mono.

Those headphones sound really bad, and maybe it's just me, but they do not fit in my ears without pain and sound leakage. I think someone had a fit of rage and tore the headphones apart on the street.

They DO hurt. I am so glad that you agree. Now I feel justified in never using the frickin' expensive piece of hardware.
Hmmmm, it might have been an artist attempting to figuratively emulate Van Gogh by using the metaphorical ear piece as a symbol for his/her own ear!! Guess he/she forgot the part about mailing it to someone you love!!

Am I the only person on earth who has sought out those headphones? They are the only earbuds that actually fit and stay in my ears, even when I run. I have really little ears, though. I do agree that the sound can be crappy, however.

I cannot believe they stay in your ears. Not only do they hurt my ears, but they fall out easily. I've been told I have the smallest ears ever; it must have more to do with one's ear shape, not size.

Vincent was walking down 12th street, his new iPod Shuffle bouncing on its lanyard, while he bounced to the last lines of 50 Cent's In Da Club. The Shuffle made its choice and switched to Dvorak's Concerto For Cello And Orchestra In B Minor.
Van Gogh's head made an involuntary jerk to the right but he adjusted and continued down 12th. His therapist told him to take these things in stride.
The Concerto concluded and the Shuffle decided to switch to Loretta Lynn's Don't Come Home A Drinkin' (With Leavin' On Your Mind).
Vincent spasmed with a head jerk to the left. His medication failed him. Tearing violently at the damned iPod, he ripped it from his neck and yanked at the earbuds, throwing everything into the path of a passing sanitation truck.
Only when the truck had passed did he notice the broken piece of earbud at his feet and his left ear in the street, flattened along side the damned Shuffle.

Hmm, would you say that iPod earbuds "engage" comfortably with the contours of your ear? And if so, are you declaring publicly that you and said earbuds will work together to project and receive sounds in accordance with the laws of the State of New York? Despite evidence of protest to this union (see above), let the ledger indicate that while complaints are recorded by the attending secretary, all such declarations are merely ceremonial and in no way constitute or help to facilitate prohibitive measures. I therefore declare you jogger and complimentary audio delivery mechanism. And so say all of us.

Guys, if you have problems with earbuds (as I do due to weird piercings) try Sony's Fontopia earbuds. They are the *only* comfy in-ear headphones I've ever used...

it is fascinating to see which of your posts inspire people to comment :)

I agree, Jenn. It seems that it's usually light-hearted, silly posts that get us commenting. *gulp* I don't want to think about what that says about some of us. :) :(
hence, I'm commenting.
