But says yes to vandalism?

Who's to say it's vandalism?
Posted by: corie at January 10, 2005 9:48 AM
If it isn't vandalism I would hope they would do a better job and place it in a more prominent place.
Is there more to the picture you are intentionally leaving out?

You've got nice vandals in America ! ;-)

It's actually on a perfectly white wall, all by itself on the main stretch of the neighborhood.
I was just challenging you, though. I guess you could call it vandalism. Or street art. A heck of lot nicer looking than most graffiti, with a point, to boot.
I actually posted it because I thought it was an interesting use of icons. I am the last person (or perhaps the last liberal) that would have patience for anti-bush graf at this point (because it's rather pointless, save personal expression on a public wall).

I think it's a lovely hook for my neighborhood. Trust me when I say that it beats the hell out of what is going on most of the walls around here. There are some baby bombers who have pretty small imaginations. I know they have time because you can have an hour to yourself on some of these streets at night.

I'm sure there are a lot of graffiti artists that would disagree with you about their "art" not having a point. It is much better to look at than the stupid "Stop Bush" that was scrawled everywhere with a permanent marker.

Well, that could always be an argument (the purpose of graffiti) :P
I agree on the marker scrawls. For anything, though, not just anti Bush.

I saw that from the bus this morning and noticed that it was painted directly around the corner from "Osama Votes Kerry." It's nice to live in a neighborhood that doesn't discriminate based on political affiliation or intellectual capacity.

I missed that one! Was that on Van Brunt? I saw some of that stenciled near the BQE over the summer.
Posted by: corie at January 10, 2005 2:30 PM
Precisely the same building, but facing Van Brunt instead of whichever cross street the hook graffiti graces (Commerce?)

It's on Bowne and Van Brunt. To take a peek at this stencil from another angle, look here.

Oh ! It's not as attractive as Corie's picture, but the graf get a real coherence, then. Bravo !
