What Were They Thinking?

Usually, with the bigger sponsored races, NYRRC gives out some sort of goodie bag. They are usually bigger and loaded with more stuff when it is a race that focuses on women's health. I don't usually want nor need any of the crap that you get, but it's still fun to get something free, even if you do only pick through it and throw the bag away.

Saturday was the Mind, Body, Spirit Games, sponsored by Fitness Magazine. I guess Fitness Magazine is for women, for when I opened my goodie bag it was full of girlie stuff, including the above beauty.

It took me a few minutes to figure out what the hell it was. I think it is the most ridiculous contraption for housing feminine hygiene products. It reminds me of when I was twelve and had to watch Molly Ringwald and Soleil Moon Frye in a growing up video in health class, only to arrive home to find that my mother had purchased me the "young women's starter kit"...which sat in my closet growing dust for several years, as Callalillie's body took a while to relay tag adulthood. I think my top half is still racing for it.

Well, you just never know when someone is going to spill a beaker of blue liquid at a hipster party. It pays to be prepared and look cool.

I was trying to think of another use for the holder. Maybe a compact flash card holder? Or maybe I will just start carrying it in my back pocket like a rock star. I think the whole things has been made worse by the fact that the case is leopard print plastic. Where are my rhinestones bedazzled into the shape of a women's symbol?

roll a few huge joints?

Hmmm. Actually, I didn't post the picture I took with the ruler, but the case and its wares are quite small. Like 2" total. Still kind of thick for a fattie pouch, I guess. But then again, how would I know. :P

true, i guess they do house OB tampons...

okay, so some mini blunts? sheesh, i sound like a pothead.

You've got to love the elaborate lengths people will go to to hide tampons, though. Feminine hygeine products=the devil!

It's pretty lame. They're .5" x 2.5" tampons. Put 'em in your pocket. I'd make fun of someone more if they carried that case than if they just carried one to the bathroom when they needed it. Maybe they'll start making concealment jewelry next...

Now I think that's silly and cool. Not for hiding them, but for keeping them from getting unwrapped in the pocket of my bag. There's nothing quite like needing one and discovering that it's unwrapped and spotted with ink.
