I envy you. I adopted another cat and my older cat Mickey and 2 year old Tootsie are not exactly living la vida loca. Or maybe they are as they are driving me NUTS. And it's not the older cat but the younger who picks fights with him and runs away. August is going to be one long hot month! But Olive and Irving look like they are in for the long haul. Congrats!

It is strange how gentle Irving is with Olive. After the two days of him roosting on the kitchen chair and hissing, I was beginning to doubt their ability to cohabitate. Now he licks her butt. I'm just going to assume that this is a good, normal thing, and be happy that he is not trying to nurse her.

Actually, Irving's counter-butt licking has ceased. I guess it was just a momentary protest.
