Handbag-sized Coke launched Apr 15 2004

The Western Mail COCA-COLA has launched a drink aimed at women and sold in a handbag-sized can.

The company said its new "mini break" Diet Coke product would be available in the thinner shape only from chemist chain Boots.

A Coca-Cola Great Britain spokeswoman said, "It's going to fit in with today's hectic lifestyle, and is a quick refreshment for people to take out mid-morning or mid-afternoon.

"It's for people on the go and will fit into ladies' handbags."

She added, "This is primarily aimed at women and will be promoted in the women's Press."

The new product range, which went on sale on Monday, will be priced by Boots and will also include Diet Coke with lemon and caffeine free Diet Coke.

It will be sold in 250ml cans while the standard can contains 330ml and plastic bottles 500ml.

Those crazy Brits. First the mini skirt, now mini diet coke. [Via Fark]

I, for one, hope they start putting Coke Grovestand in a more substantial can.

cans of pop are just too large - look at the label, it's two servings! i'm all for a smaller portion. but i'd never stash a sweating soda in my handbag.

two servings, ha! i like a can of soda...and more than that in one sitting is tough. the trouble is that i can easily consume several cans a day...
