Waldorf & Statler
They've finally arrived! Today my two favorite Muppet Show characters, Waldorf and Statler, were delivered by a rather tardy Amazon.com.
The best thing about Waldorf and Statler are that they're cranky as all hell-- kind of like a theater version of Oscar the Grouch, my favorite Sesame Street character. Even cooler, Waldorf and Statler came with little Muppet vegetables, which have to be the neatest accessory to ever be bestowed upon a plastic action figure. I'm now in the possession of two cranky old men, their chairs, canes, three tomatoes, a carrot and an avocado, all three with faces. Rapture!
A little about Waldorf and Statler:

WALDORF
Job: Variety show heckler (member, B.O.O. -- Brotherhood of Ornery Oldsters)
Special Talents: Criticizing, scorning, mocking, naysaying, jeering, ridiculing and remembering simpler times.
Likes: His wife, Astoria
Dislikes: His wife, Astoria
STATLER
Job: Variety show heckler (member, H.I.S.S. -- Hecklers International Secret Society)
Special Talents: Booing in at least 13 languages, driving 30 MPH below the speed limit, matching white belt to white shoes
Likes: Very little
Dislikes: Everything else (especially stand-up bear comedians)
I've been slowly but surely collecting Muppet action figures...and I'm not quite sure what to make of it. I've never been an action figure collector, but I just can't help myself. They're so darn cute.
It's funny how a few pieces of plastic can brighten your day. Now if only I could wake up tomorrow in a 85-degree tropical paradise...

why are there only pictures of vegetables and no statler & waldorf? i wanna see how they came out, as i don't fully understand the notion of muppet action figures. think about it, have you ever seen statler & waldorf's legs before?

sometimes you saw their legs-- only when they fell backwards. i'll take a picture of the real ones sitting in their victorian chairs (i was hoping that they'd come as a set in a box seat, but alas) and post it when i get home...for now, i'll post the screen shots.
