Renewed Sense of Urgency
U.S. Military announced today that "a renewed sense of urgency" is firing the search for Osama bin Laden.
Am I the only one who can't help but think that our government actually has bin Laden somewhere and is just waiting until September or October 2004 to release the info, right in time for the election? I can't believe that I'm finding myself in state where I actually hope that they don't catch up with bin Laden until at least December 2004, as his capture will certainly tilt the election toward Republican.
I've never felt like such a conspiracy theorist before.

Or would you say, maybe they are holding him already and just waiting until the race heats up? Hmmmm, anything is possible.

As I read this again in your Polartec piece, I was suddenly struck by the memory of your grandfather Benjamin's fierce assertation that someday he was going to burn Spiro Agnew's balls off with a laser beam. It was one of the reasons that I liked him so much.

I really wish I could have known Grandpa Ben. Though I think he'd be mortified by the current state of our government.
