Chilled Bean

beancold1.jpg

I rarely, if ever, work from home. Due to the fact that UPS refuses to deliver a package of mine a) at a non-work hour and b) without my signature, I'm home today, hunched over my computer trying to figure out how to create an intranet system with severely limited programming experience.

In the 4 hours that I've been sitting here, I've realized that the heat is not on during the work week day hours. Now cold is generally a non-issue for me; I realized at a young age that I have no real circulation, hence I’m always uncomfortably chilly in temps lower than 75. However, I've never seen the Bean so cold. I've pried him out of my closet three times. Luckily, he likes running shirts.

my landlady does the same thing, but of course, i'm here every day! but irving has a fur coat, did he really seem cold? or does he just like the attention :)

he crawls under my conforter or into my closet when he's cold...and sometimes he gets trapped inside my duvet cover. he could just be trying to be cute, but i generally think that he's inherited my non-functional circulatory system.

uh oh. starting to assume a pet is genetically related to its owner ... sounds like Crazy Cat Lady Syndrome is setting in. and i should know.

Honey, I've been a crazy cat lady since as long as I can remember. That's why I confine myself to one cat. Could you imagine if I 4?

You don't have control over your heat?

Posted by: joe s at February 25, 2004 2:30 PM

not as far as i can tell...no thermostats. i'm sure there's a controller somewhere in the building, but i don't know off hand, other than going downstairs to futz with the furnace.

Huh. I'd think that if you own your own place you'd get access to a thermostat. Co-ops are weird.

Oiy, the Bean needs a trip to SD. He could lay out on the porch with Maud and Gwenny.

Naw, he's probably allergic to cats. But thanks for the offer :P
