Kitty Kong vs. Irving Pile

irving_pile.jpg

Irving has grown quite vocal since the move. I was beginning to think that he was bored or pining for companionship, as over the past three days he'd developed a rather irritating habit of waking me up at 4am by standing at the side of the bed yowling. There was nothing else to do but buy the cat some toys.

worldpets_1761_16586089.gif Yesterday I found perhaps the dumbest cat toy known to man-- and, of course, Irving went crazy over it. It’s a piece of paper shaped like a mouse and saturated with catnip oil. You're supposed to scratch the tail to release the scent, then crumple the body into a ball and throw it at your cat. As you can see above, Irving thought that this was the best thing since biodegradable pine-scented kitty litter.

After those pictures were taken, Oybean promptly ate and entire bowl of food and went to sleep beneath my comforter.

catnip toys might work in the interim, but boy that cat needs a pal. yep, another cat is just what you need!

He does need a pal. I'm nervous that he'd be really frightened, though. Maybe Pinky would do an interim visitation, just to see how they got along?

usually it takes a good amount of time for new cats to get used to each other, so a short trial may be inconclusive. but it might be worth a shot. has irving ever spent time with other cats? pinky seems fairly adaptable, if a bit rambunctious.

irving lived with another male cat for a few months and with my parents' cat for a bit, as well. both were a little different, though, as he wasn't in his own territory.
