How'd DUMBO Get So Clean?
Yesterday, at the very last moment that I possibly could, I decided to take my "religious holiday" and honor my blurry Jewish roots.
I attoned by taking a series of very long walks with J all over Brookyn, which was perfect activity for the lovely fall day. We trekked around Park Slope, then down Atlantic, where we found a really cool and useless old globe stand at the Salvation Army, which I think I might purchase at some point soon. After two pit stops at my apartment, we (I) decided to head over to DUMBO in search of street art and Jacques Torres hot chocolate.
DUMBO looked cleaner than I've ever seen it? What happened? Of course, I know what happened, but it was still quite a shock. Almost all of my favorite graffiti was painted over. There were a few nice odds and ends on Water Street near the park, but for the most part DUMBO was looking pretty squeaky clean, which was very disheartening for me.
But, at least we had good hot chocolate. Torres' "wicked" spicy hot chocolate is the best chocolately beverage on this earth.
I should have pictures of the few pieces of street art that I found tomorrow...I opted to shoot in 35mm and need to drop the film off for developing...

Some how I image Irving getting impaled by the rather large and sharp metal spike! Maybe I could turn it into a planter...
