In Search Of...

THE FOLLOWING OLD ACQUAINTANCES:

glenn barnes
steve chauner
vinay krishna
dana lukin

The web is vast. Perhaps by some degree of separation one of them might see this, or some one might pass it on. Why? I'm curious as to what they're up to. That's it.

Is this Vinay? http://photos.friendster.com/photos/66/07/1617066/567912653521t.jpg

If it is, he's on friendster, though not on my network so I can't find any more info about him.

Hope this helps!

I have a picture of Vinay and I together at Dave Trachtenberg's wedding. Want to see it? I can probably put you in touch with him through Dave. Vinay is doing well--he seemed really happy. He's a submarine system's engineer for the government and is currently based in Australia. He came back from Australia for just a few days to be in Dave's wedding. Also, I ran into Dana Lukin and Josh Bengis at a bar on the UWS last year (The Gin Mill). Dana was... starting/ending a residency at Mt. Sinai??? Not sure. The details are fuzzy. Dana looked pretty good--we all had a nice time catching up. Dana shared a cab home with Lauren, and Josh went home with my friend Stacie. I know little about what happened from there...
I also used to run into Steve Chawner almost regularly when I was between apartments and living at home, but that was...two years ago?

Hmm. Very interesting. Australia? The Gin Mill, eh? What were you doing there, dearie? I just had flashbacks to the time that Q and I went, got way sloppy drunk and two Irish guys kept trying to pick us up...I gave one a fake number and was promptly busted when he asked me to repeat it to him 5 minutes later. UWS bars. Ick.

What was I doing at the Gin Mill? I LOVED it. On Saturdays. My roomie had a thing with the scary tatooed dj that spinned on Saturdays. He hooked us up and I had a good time dancin around to cheesy 80's music like prince, bon jovi, the cure and other classics. Sure it was a total "college bar", but sometimes I'm in the mood for that over the swanky lounge bar, cafe bar, or "theme bar". I don't think I'd go back though b/c I think tatoo guy doesn't work there anymore and last time I went the music sucked.

Really?? Hmm. I've always held the Gin Mill on the same level as Brother Jimmy's...though I'd occasionally go to Bro.Jimmy's for the cheap drinks and really yummy food. In both places, though, you'd have to dodge big, dumb, and drunk ex-frat boys.

Hey Kar, meant to ask you, how was Dave's wedding? I wanna hear details...
That's good to hear that Vinay is doing well, the last I heard was a few years back and I don't remember who told me, that Vinay was not doing that good. That he'd dropped out of Stony Brook, or something like that. My memory isn't that great. Funny note about Dana Lukin, I think I told Karen this at the time. One day I was screwing around on J Date laughing at all the silly desperate single Jews and reminding myself why it seems unlikely I'll ever find that proverbial "nice Jewish boy"... and I randomly happened upon Dana Lukin's profile, which was definitely an unexpected and strange trip down memory lane.

I came across this site while doing a random google search with my name in it. As a Quick Update for those of you who are interested... Vinai is still in Aus working for a Navy Defense contractor and Dana remains hard at work at Mount Sinai. As for me, I am in my second year of Law School In Buffalo. Hope everyone one is well, and happy hollidays.

Hey Josh! Great to hear from you. I'm always curious where people wind up. Good luck in school-- hope it's keeping you on your toes.
