Chocolate Scholar

chocolate.jpgNow this is that kind of museum exhibit that I can get into. The American Museum of Natural History has a new exhibit, Chocolate, opening June 14th. It explores the legends, history, ecology, and economics of that scrumptious treat. To top it off, AMNH will be offering free Weekend Chocolate Tastings to "compliment" the exhibit. Smith & Wollensky's frozen chocolate-covered cheesecake pops perked up my ears. You can read more about the exhibit in today's Science section of the NYTimes.

There will also be a public seminar on chocolate at 1pm next Tuesday. Seems to me that this is defnitely one educational professional development day that I can't afford to miss.

What a great kick off to the summer with two of my favorite subjects: history and chocolate. Smother NYC in caramel and I'll be in heaven....

Yes, looking forward to it, though I wonder why Jacques Torres isn't involved...
